BITS AND PIECES | The Bridge Walk & Pints For Polio - This Could Be The Year Polio Ends!
By Patty Byers
You couldn’t miss all 50 of us, dressed in bright red End Polio Now shirts, crossing the bridge. Thank you to Paul Gore for outfitting us for the walk.
After first converging on the Broadway Bowl parking lot to organize, Portland and South Portland-Cape Elizabeth Rotarians, family, and friends, took up their banners and headed to the bridge. Varying distances were completed, but ultimately most ended up at Broadway Bowl for a good time, good drinks, and good food. Others who were unable to join in the walk, arrived on the scene to show their support, and take advantage of the "Pints For Polio" donation from Broadway.
A big thanks to Gervin Kah for his leadership on the bridge walk. Cheers to Amy Chipman and Mike Fortunato for making the arrangements at Broadway. Great team effort! Enjoy the photos!
