This Week's Speaker:Patty Byers, Rotary Club of Portland President 2024-2025
On Friday, our speaker Patty Byers will share her vision for Portland Rotary as she begins her year as President.
Patty joined Rotary in 1998, at the club in Princeton, NJ, where she served as secretary for five years, before becoming Club President in 2005. After moving to Maine, she was a member of the Farmington Club for three years, before moving to Portland Rotary in 2020, where she has served as Foundation Chair for three years.
Patty grew up in Pasadena, California. She is a graduate of Occidental College with a BA in Psychology, and of Princeton Theological Seminary with an MDiv degree. Her first career was as vice-president in private banking, specializing in trust and estate administration. She is still a Trustee of the Fred C. Rummel Foundation, a fifteen-million-dollar charitable trust based in New Jersey. She had a second career in major gift and campaign fundraising in education and healthcare, from which she retired in 2016, having received national recognition in non-profit fundraising.
Patty lives in Portland with her husband, Reid, and loves visiting their two sons, Reid III and Hartman, in Boston, as often as possible.

REVIEW OF OUR CLUB MEETING PROTOCOL
Our meetings are at the Italian Heritage Club, and the lunch cost is $22.
Please help the registration team:
Venmo, before you get to the registration table, is preferred.
Venmo to: @dickhall7780 (207) 749-9186
Checks, made out before getting to the registration table, are the second best option. Exact change is requested if paying in cash.
Last option, but still acceptable is cash needing change.
If Venmo or check is not exactly $22, please include a Venmo note or memo on the check.
Regardless of how you pay, please be sure to check in with the registration team. Registration can be hectic so try to help make it easy for the registration volunteers.
Tom Nickerson sends out weekly reminders, and you should reply with your RSVP to (tnickersonrotary@gmail.com) to reserve your meal. The deadline for your reservation is 10 AM on Wednesday.
Do you have friends who might be interested in our programs and the mission of our club? Feel free to forward Tom Nickerson's weekly message to them and invite them to come to a meeting to see our good works.
