This Week's Program: Julie Marchese, Founder & Race Director - Tri for a Cure
Julie is the founder and race director for the Maine Cancer Foundation's Tri for a Cure - Maine's largest single-day fundraiser. Thanks to the efforts of thousands of supporters, the Tri for a Cure has raised almost $22 million for Maine Cancer Foundation, every dollar of which has been reinvested into Maine communities for cancer prevention, early detection and access to care.

Founded in 2008 by Julie and Abby Bliss, the Tri for a Cure has become the largest triathlon in the state of Maine, providing a gorgeous race course along the shores of Cape Elizabeth and South Portland. This event consists of a USAT-sanctioned 1/3-mile swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run.

Bits and Pieces | by Tom Talbott
WINTER STORM IN SPRING: March came in like a lamb, but is going out like a very annoyed and angry lion. The combination of the heaviest snowfall of the season, combined with freezing rain turned off the power for many of our club members, some for 8 or so hours, others for several days. Hope everyone made it through OK without any serious issues to their life or tree limbs.

RED, WHITE, and BLUE:  Meeting ths Friday, March 29th, 11am at the IHC before our regular meeting, to organize our upcoming painting event on the Rowe Elementary School parking lot. Nanette Ranger-Duncanson will be organizing everyone  for our painting expedition on April 13-14, where we'll be painting a giant U.S. state map on the school playground.Join in and have some fun!
