Board of Directors Meeting
January 16, 2015
Meeting was called to order at 1:42 p.m.
Present: Kris Rosado, President; Bowen Depke, 1st VP; Laura Young, 2nd VP; Loretta Rowe, Sec.; Mike Fortunato, Sgt-at-arms; Charlie Frair, Dir.; Julie L’Heureux, Dir.; Steve Stromsky, Dir.; and Elise Hodgkin, Admin. Coordinator
Absent: Scott Blakeslee, Treas.; Mac Collins, Dir. and John Marr, IPP
Guests: Harold Crabill and Peter Goffin, Chair and Vice-chair Membership Committee
QUORUM was established with nine board members present and 2 proxies
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the November 21, 2014 Board meeting were accepted and approved. There was no board meeting on December 19, 2014.
FINANCIAL REPORT
In the absence of the Club Treasurer, Scott Blakeslee, the financial reports were tabled until the February 20, 2015 Board meeting.
BUSINESS:
• New Membership Applications - Nan Heald - sponsor Don Lowry - approved.
Leonard Scott - sponsor Jim Willey - approved.
• Resignations - None received.
• Leaves of Absence - None received.
• Update on Childhood Hunger and Education (CHE) - presented by Bowen Depke and Laura Young. An outline has been created and a 4-part strategy set: (1) Cause (2) What are we doing (3) Projects (4) Funding. Survey and initiative will be presented to the membership in the next month.
• Rule of 85 request - John Marr - approved.
• Membership Committee - made recommendations for consideration to help diversify the population of our club members by offering incentives to attract and keep a younger group of professionals:
- Reduce dues for members under 40 to half price ($120) and make it effective until their 40th birthday;
- Waive the admission fee of $100 for new members under the age of 40;
• Baxter school in considering an Interact club.
ADJOURNMENT AND NEXT BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE
Meeting was adjourned at 2:40 p.m. The next regular Board meeting will be held on February 20, 2015 at 1:35 p.m.
